The cultivation theory:
. Concerned with the effects of television programming on the attitudes amd behaviour of the American public.
. Findings suggest that those that watch more television (heavy viewers) perceive the real world as it's portrayed on the television.
This is an interesting theory as it explores the effects television has on the public. It explores it to find out if there is a difference between the ways heavy viewers may see the real world compared to those who do not watch TV as much. Interestingly, heavier viewers seem to perceive the real world as it's portrayed on the television. This goes to show how TV gives a sense of unrealism and can possibly brain wash.
